Accompanying research "Réseau de l'Arc"

bche and Swiss TPH sign contract for accompanying research on the "Réseau de l'Arc"

Press release

Basel, 22.03.2024 | The Basel Center for Health Economics (bche) and Swiss TPH will be responsible for the accompanying research on the Réseau de l'Arc in the Bernese Jura in the coming years. This is the first "real" integrated care model in Switzerland, launched at the beginning of the year and supported by the private service provider Swiss Medical Network, the health insurer Visana and the canton of Bern. With the integrated care model, the rigid boundaries between health insurance as the payer and the service providers as the providers of healthcare services are disappearing. Better coordination of healthcare providers and a strict patient focus should put the focus on funding and maintaining the health of matriculated policyholders.

The project is significant in terms of health policy and is attracting a great deal of attention from insurers, service providers and health policy-makers. The comprehensive accompanying research over a period of 6 years is therefore central to evaluating the effects of the new care model on the expenses and benefits of healthcare and to developing a sound basis for decision-making for future projects.
